At evertex, where passion breeds innovation
Jovica Spajic and Szu-ting Yi, two athletes in completely different fields and climates using Evertex'shybrid merino-wool (Janerino®) series. Utilizing the characteristics (warm when wet, anti-odor, etc) from merino wool and the benefit from polyester yarn (durability, quick-dry).
Jovica recently attended the 300 KM Winter Ultra Marathon "Rovaniemi" in February of this year. The ultra-marathon which was held in an extremely cold climate, Jovica used one of our Janerino® fabrics for his warm base-layer. This layer is especially important in extreme climate because the athlete would need the garment to disperse the heat and wick his sweat while keeping his body dry. Evertex provided Jovica a textile with polyester outside, merino wool inside, for push-pull sweat management while the horizontal lines in the brushed backer offer good breathability. This material is also very durable owing to it's synthetic face.

In the case of Szu-ting Yi, she was rock climbing in Argentina in a period in which the temperatures can reach a high of 22°C and a low of-5°C (Celsius). In such a condition, in which there can be a tremendous difference in temperature throughout the day our Janerino® (series Vent) fabric not only did a great job helping regulate her body temperature but also protected her from bug bites. This lightweightness and high warmth-to-weight ratio warm-layer knit offers the freedom of movement a rock climber would require on the rock.
